Sprocket with Integrated Guard

Project goal:
New tricks that are becoming popular in BMX involve hitting the sprocket on obstacles. Sprockets with guards that were currently on the market were CNC'd out of solid alloy and expensive.The goal was to design a pro-level sprocket with a guard, that would retail for half the price of the current guard sprockets in the market.
Solution:
Create a two piece sprocket. The guard will be manufactured by injection molding. A high-impact plastic will be used for the guard, and the sprocket will be created by a stamping process. Stamped sprockets can only be 5mm thick so they cannot be threaded, so a low cost solution was developed to fasten the guard using a standard bolt flipped upside-down
